4 – 8pm “All Through the House” at the Briggs McDermott House. The Bourne Society for Historic Preservation welcomes you to experience Christmas at the Briggs-McDermott House at 22 Sandwich Rd. in Bourne Village. Rooms in the home will be decorated “All Through the House” with surprises that complement the theme. Refreshments will be served in the warmth of the adjacent Alonzo Booth Blacksmith Shop along with the Aptucxet Garden Club Wreath & Greens Sale. Decorated wreaths, boxwood trees, centerpieces, mugs and more created by the Aptucxet Garden Club will be for sale.
5 – 6:30pmMusic & Tree Lighting at the Jonathan Bourne Public Library. Cocoa and cookies will be served by the Friends of the Library. At 5:30pm enjoy music by the Bourne High School Band and Chorus; the Tree Lighting ceremony begins at 6pm. Please bring items for the Giving Tree! (scarves, hats, new toys etc.)
5 – 6:30pm Cookie Walk & Sanctuary Tours at the Bourne United Methodist Church. Join the fun at this popular annual event by purchasing a box to fill with delicious homemade cookies –a box is $6. Quantities are limited so plan to come early to get your favorite cookies! Take a tour of the historic 1831 Meeting House which serves as the present sanctuary of the church. The sanctuary will be lit and traditional holiday organ music will accompany the tours. Sit a while and feel the Spirit of Christmas!
6 – 8pm Candy Canes and Cookie Jars at theJonathan Bourne Historical Center.The Bourne Historical Society and the Bourne Town Archives welcome you to 30 Keene Street, grab a candy cane and check out the many Cookie Jars! Scallop and bacon chowder will be served to warm up chilly visitors along with sweets and punch; cookies will be available for sale. The Aptucxet Trading Post Gift Shop will have a table set up for an opportunity to purchase some holiday goodies! At the close of the evening, the Bourne United Methodist Church Choir will lead us in traditional Christmas Carols!
Saturday, December 7th
8:30am & 9:30amBreakfast with Santa at the Jonathan Bourne Public Library. Santa and Mrs. Claus invite you for a holiday breakfast in the Program Room at the Library. There will be two seatings: at 8:30am and 9:30am. Tickets cost $5.00 for children 2 and older and $15.00 for adults. Tickets must be purchased in advance in the Library Children’s room.
10am – noonAptucxet Garden Club Wreath & Greens Saleat the Briggs McDermott House. Decorated wreaths, boxwood trees, centerpieces, mugs and more created by the Aptucxet Garden Club will be for sale.
9am – 2pm Deck the Halls in Cataumet! Visit the beautiful, historic Cataumet Schoolhouse at 1200 County Rd. and get a jump on holiday shopping and decorating at our annual holiday fair. Find locally handcrafted ornaments, candles and other gifts, as well as wreaths and greens. Enjoy delicious baked goods, homemade chowder and warm mulled cider. Don’t miss our exciting raffle items, including lobsters, gift cards and other goods from local Cape Cod businesses!
11am - 3pmChristmas at Aptucxet. The Bourne Historical Society hosts Christmas at the Aptucxet Trading Post where tastes of fresh oysters and bay scallops cooked on the open hearth will be offered along with other goodies, hot cider and scallop & bacon chowder. Goody Claus will be there, too, providing a great holiday photo opportunity! Mavis Robinson’s reading of Goodie Claus, written by Kathryn Lee Bates, will close out the event.

Additional Holiday Events…
A Caring/Sharing Winter Wonderlandat the Jonathan Bourne Public Library. The Friends of the Jonathan Bourne Public Library sponsors this popular annual event where community members and organizations donate decorated tabletop-sized Christmas Trees and other seasonal or gift items. A silent auction will be held with all proceeds going to a designated charity. Bidding begins on November 21st and ends on December 13th at 5pm.
Harp Concert with Aine Minogue at the Library. Monday, December 9th at 7pm, Aine Minogue invites you to join her on a spellbinding journey through ancient Celtic lore. Mixing music and poetry, this show embodies a contemplative mood and features music tailored to the celebration of Celtic mid-winter traditions. Doors will open at 6:30pm for the event.
Pocasset Holiday Fair. The Pocasset Community Center will host their Annual Holiday Fair on Saturday,November 30thfrom 8am to 3pm with a huge Raffle Table, jams, jellies, baked items, relishes and unique handcrafted items at the Pocasset Community Center at 314 Barlow’s Landing Road.
Winter Solstice Celebration at Aptucxet Trading Post. Friday, December 21, 2019 from 6pm - 8pm at the Lyons Family Pavilion at Aptucxet. Dress warmly and join us around the fire as we roast oysters & marshmallows, enjoy hot soups and sweets and honor the ancient human tradition of celebrating the Winter Solstice.
